How employer PRSI works

Employer PRSI for Class A employees is 11.25% of all earnings until 30 September 2026 and 11.40% from 1 October 2026, once weekly pay is above €552 (gov.ie Class A rates). There is no ceiling. Below €552 a week the lower rate applies (9.00%, then 9.15%). The calculator uses the calendar-2026 blend of 11.2875% for salaries above about €28,700.

From 1 January 2026, auto-enrolment (MyFutureFund) adds an employer contribution of 1.5% of gross pay for employees aged 23 to 60 earning €20,000 or more who are not in a payroll pension, on pay up to €80,000 (gov.ie employer guidance). The rate rises to 3% from 2029.
