SaaS Metrics Benchmark Calculator
Enter your key SaaS metrics and see instantly how you stack up against 2026 B2B SaaS medians, by customer segment. Every benchmark is sourced. The honest answer to 'am I normal?'
Your metrics
Benchmarks: Benchmarkit 2026 report (CY-25 data; median and top quartile for growth 20%/42%, NRR 102%/110%, GRR 84%/91%, gross margin 76%/84%, CAC payback 16/10 months, LTV:CAC 4.1x/7.8x; under-$5K ACV: NRR 98%, payback 11 months; $50K-$100K ACV: payback 22 months, 25th percentile 15). Where the report gives a segment median but no segment top quartile, the Strong threshold is the all-company top quartile. Burn multiple: SaaS Capital & Runway 2026. Treat as a guide, not a grade.
How this benchmark tool works
Pick a segment and the tool adjusts the bars where the source report gives a segment figure: net revenue retention for low-ACV companies and CAC payback for low-ACV and enterprise-ACV companies. Everything else uses the all-company median. For each metric you enter, it shows the median and the top-quartile threshold, then grades you Below, On par, or Strong. The goal isn't a report card, it's to show you which one or two metrics are your biggest levers.
The 2026 benchmarks, and where they come from
All benchmarks except burn multiple come from Benchmarkit's 2026 report (342 B2B SaaS and AI companies, CY-25 data, published June 2026). Median NRR was 102% (top quartile 110%), GRR 84% (top quartile 91%, down from 88% a year earlier), LTV:CAC 4.1x, CAC payback 16 months (improved from 18), gross margin 76% (80% on software revenue alone) and growth 20% a year (top quartile 42%). Burn multiple norms come from SaaS Capital and Runway.
A single number out of line is a signal, not a diagnosis. The value comes from seeing how a below-median metric flows through the rest of your model, how a longer CAC payback eats runway, or how weak NRR caps your valuation. That's what a live financial model in Adlega shows you.
Worked example: a 40% grower with a long payback
The defaults describe a company that grows fast but spends a lot to get each customer: it is at or above the median on 3 of 7 metrics.
| Metric | Yours | Median | Top quartile | Grade |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| YoY growth rate | 40% | 20% | 42% | On par |
| Net revenue retention | 105% | 102% | 110% | On par |
| Gross revenue retention | 85% | 84% | 91% | On par |
| Gross margin | 75% | 76% | 84% | Below |
| CAC payback | 18 mo | 16 mo | 10 mo | Below |
| LTV:CAC | 3.0x | 4.1x | 7.8x | Below |
| Burn multiple | 1.8x | 1.6x | 1.0x | Below |
| At or above the median | 3 / 7 | |||
Growth and retention are fine; all four below-median metrics measure efficiency, so that is where to look first.
